A breakfast nook isn’t something I have seen in many Australian homes, yet it is such a great addition to a kitchen space. They don’t need a lot of space and make the perfect spot for a morning coffee, or an informal conversational area with friends. Here are some common themes in some of my favourite breakfast nooks.
Banquette Seating:
A custom banquette is space saving and a great excuse to introduce colour through fabric (and cushions!). Although the scheme needs to complement the adjacent kitchen area, it can be an opportunity to add some personality and fun.
A Round Table:
A small round table helps create the intimate space and works well in a corner.
Bistro Chairs:
I confess to having a love affair with bistro chairs and these would be my choice for the additional seating.
Lighting:
A beautiful pendant can define the space and adds a touch of glamour.
Do you love a breakfast nook too?
