I thought I would change things up a bit this week and share some weekly inspiration of a different kind, Mother Nature at her finest.
Last weekend, Mr Gallerie B and I had a two night stay at Qualia on Hamilton Island for a bit of R and R. The Qualia resort is framed by the surrounding landscape of Australian Eucalypts and views of the Coral Sea and Whitsundays. The very private space consists of 60 individual pavilions.
Inside the resort, Qualia feels like a sanctuary. No children are allowed and it is not hard to feel the stresses disappear almost instantly. I was immediately struck by how quiet it was.
This is the beautiful view from the foyer. The water colour is an incredible turquoise.
The surrounding views provide the backdrop for the resort’s eating and recreation spaces. Even on an overcast day, it was still magnificent.
Many hours were spent poolside. On the Sunday, I had a front row seat watching the event management team construct a spectacular open marquee, for an intimate wedding for 14 guests that night.
I tried to get a close up of the amazing floral arrangements that were suspended from the roof. Beautiful soft pink and white roses and orchids with four glass chandeliers suspended amongst them.
It just so happened that our dinner that night was in the adjacent restaurant. It looked like a fairytale.
More spectacular floral displays were brought in to line the perimeter of the infinity pool.
The cake was suspended on a clear platform that was built over the pool. (I know, I am starting to sound stalkerish but it was so amazing!). These photos were taken before the guests arrived too!
No detail was spared. More flowers…..
And the surprise entertainment for the guests, a ballerina floating on the pool performing within a bubble. As you do!
Our sunset cruise around the island was an activity offered by the resort. This was definitely a highlight.
The batteries were re-charged even after only two days. It is always a treat to have Mother Nature provide such a feast for the senses.
