After 25 years designing high-end fashion, Collette Dinnigan has made her debut into the Interior Design world. I must admit I was stopped in my tracks when I first saw her stunning makeover of two luxury penthouse suites at Bannisters By The Sea, in Mollymook on the NSW coast. Their rejuvenation involved some major work. Knocking out walls, replacing all windows, doors and then creating the perfect coastal decor scheme. The end result is two stylish suites that would make any guest think they could be in the Hamptons.
The walls are clad in timber and painted a crisp white. I love the simple white linen slipcovered chairs with blue accents. The decor does not take away from the incredible views of the surrounding Jervis Bay.
The woollen rugs were designed by Madeleine Weinrib and Robyn Cosgrove. Soft furnishings include beautiful blue handprinted cushions by Kathryn Ireland, Penny Morrison and Carolina Irving.
Artwork is by Australian Martine Emdur and photographs by Hugh Stewart.
One of the bedroom features Schumacher fabric and a vintage velvet chair that Collette found in France.
Both have full length plantation shutters opening to the balcony.
Lighting is from the Aerin Lauder collection.
I love this simple decorating idea.
Each suite is fitted with a kitchenette. How gorgeous are the oak wooden floors?
The luxurious bathrooms feature Perrin and Rowe tapware and marble vanity.
How talented is Collette Dinnigan? I can’t wait to see her future ventures in Interior Design. After my recent feature on Halcyon House in Cabarita Beach, I think a trip along the NSW coast needs to be next on my holiday list!
