I wanted to share with you one of my favourite shopping destinations in Melbourne. A place close to my heart, Montebello Emporium. After completing my Interior Design Diploma (with IDI) four years ago, I was lucky enough to ‘work’ here for three of these. Not that it was work at all. Having exposure to beautiful furniture and homeware products only reinforced my interest in this industry. Kate, the owner of Montebello, has an amazing eye for detail and we share a mutual love of colour. The store is expertly merchandised into colour ‘stories’ which change seasonally and as new stock arrives. There are now two stores, the original in Balwyn and the newer Camberwell store that opened last December.
Camberwell features vaulted ceilings which show off the Enoki pendants. Anna Spiro wallpaper (from Porters Paints) provides a colourful backdrop throughout the store.
Montebello is definitely a ‘one-stop shop’ for any female. Not only is it a haven for homewares, it also offers a carefully curated selection of fashion brands and accessories.
And a unique jewellery piece, or two!
Beautiful gift wrapping is a trademark at Montebello and having several retail Christmas’ up my sleeve was ideal practice!
