I am always on the lookout for stylish storage and January is the perfect time to get things sorted and organised for the year ahead. With a bit more time over the holidays, I have been thinking about how to be organised in our new home. I am hoping that everything will have it’s special place and be easily accessible. Here are some of my favourite homewares at the moment to Get Organised in Style (some of them are on sale too, yay!).
I have had my eye on this Daily System at Pottery Barn for a while. I love the whiteboard calendar and can definitely see this working as our weekly family schedule. I took advantage of the recent sale and along with a co-ordinating magnetic whiteboard for school notices, this will have it’s place in my mum’s workstation off the kitchen.
I love baskets of all shapes and sizes. They are a great way to store all sorts of things from magazines and kids’ toys to extra bedding and blankets. These Graphic Printed ones from West Elm come in bright colours and interesting shapes and are stylish enough to put out on display.
Trays are such a versatile homeware piece. I use them to store my coffee table books, candles, flowers and the TV remotes. You can find a similar tray (here).
For something a bit more glamorous, these Faux Shagreen Trays are beautiful and come in three different colours.
Decorative storage boxes are my ‘go-to’ item in the home office or study nook. They are perfect for holding all those awkward bits and pieces and keeping things like stationery in the one spot. I have this Kate Spade set waiting to be used in my new study.
This Florence Broadhurst range is also on sale at the moment.
I have also recently discovered that Officeworks stocks a range of Jonathan Adler desk accessories, who knew? This is my pick. These Document Trays would look great stacked together and are ideal for keeping the paper trail at bay.
One of my pet peeves is having the devices all over the house, plugged into different power points. This ALLDOCK station is the perfect solution and is high on my wish list. It also comes in bamboo or black.
During the holidays I have had a big sort out of my make up and toiletries. It is scary to think of how long I have had some of my nail polishes and lipsticks. This Cosmetic Organiser (I might need 2 or 3!) will be ideal for keeping everything together in my cupboard.
One of my favourite recent finds is this range of white Variera boxes from Ikea. It is fair to say I am stocking up on various sizes for the new house. I can see them being used for all sorts of storage. In the laundry, craft cupboard, bathroom, pantry and garage. I have also discovered these Martha Stewart bookplates from Officeworks. Any opportunity to use a label maker!
Finally, an oldie but a goodie. I have had my Kikki K Dream Home Organiser for about five years now. It doesn’t look as pretty as the latest version but it has been a great way to collate all my magazine cut outs and inspiring images for our home. Yes I love Pinterest but sometimes you can’t beat the hard copy.
Which stylish storage idea would you find most useful? I would love to hear of any other products you use.
