Friday’s Favourites

I hope the mum’s had a great Mother’s day. I enjoyed an amazing Chocolate Bar High Tea at the Langham Hotel with my mum and girls. The Lindt chocolate fountain was a big hit and it’s fair to say we rolled out of there!

Friday's Favourites

Yesterday I attended the inaugural DEN Furniture and Design Fair. It is a three day trade event that showcases high quality and contemporary furniture, lighting and homewares. It is also a platform to celebrate the work of Australian designers and makers. Here are some things that caught my eye.

This is Jardan‘s exhibit. The floor rug was beautiful (sorry it’s only a glimpse, with all the visitors at the stand I couldn’t get a better photo).

The clever ladies at Zuster released their new Halo range of furniture. This buffet was amazing.  The handle is marble and there is a choice of three different colours. Notice the hexagonal detail on the legs too.

I am always on the look out for artwork for clients. This beautiful piece, Clouds of Content is by Melbourne artist Chloe Planinsek. Apologies for the poor photo which doesn’t do justice to the colours.

I really hope the DEN Fair becomes an annual event. It was a great opportunity to see the work of the many talented artisans we have in Australia.

I thought as part of my Friday’s Favourites, each month I will feature one of my favourite designers. This month it’s Sydney-based Natasha Levak. I met Natasha a few years ago when I studied at the Coco Republic Design School where she was part of their Interior Design team. I have shared a few of Natasha’s projects in the past and love her classic yet contemporary style.

I featured an alternate view of this bathroom recently. I love the marble tiles and wall sconce. The sheer drapes create a luxurious backdrop for the bath (as well as privacy screen).

Friday's Favourites

Following my previous blogpost on coloured kitchens, Natasha adds some personality to this one with an island bench painted blue.

Friday's Favourites

This bedroom is calming with its’ soft colour palette.

Friday's Favourites

One of my favourite living rooms which you might recognsie from House and Garden magazine. A coastal vibe is achieved through blue and white ticking on the armchairs and a large sisal floor rug.
