I have never had a guest room before so when we bought our little fibro beach house, this was one of the rooms I was most excited about. Over the past three years, we have loved having friends and family over to share some quality time together. This is how the room looked initially. Very yellow and crowded with heavy furnishings.
Here is how the room looks now, hopefully more comfortable and inviting. The first major change was repainting with Dulux White Swan. Blue and white are one of my favourite colour combinations. I replaced the threadbare roman blinds to a heavier lined fabric, enabling more sleep ins and less early morning sun. The Dash and Albert rug gives some warmth for the feet on cold mornings. A few pillows to choose from and a throw on the bed for the cooler months.
Table lamps allow for some night time reading and ambience.
Maybe a few words of wisdom from Oprah! Fresh flowers too to pretty up the space.
My Gallerie B designed chair is a recent addition. It gives the guests an additional reading/relaxing spot (plus I love this fabric!). Guests can use the chest of drawers for storage and the mirror is useful when the bathroom is occupied.
The pineapple hook behind the door provides a place to hang clothing.
The rattan trunk can be used to place overnight bags on, as well as storage for additional bedding.
My ‘Welcome Pack’ includes towels, soap and some bottled water.
